6T/H Sesame cleaning line in Sudan
This cleaning line was designed, installed, and commissioned for a sesame processing facility in Sudan. It has been in stable production for many years, processing locally harvested sesame. The line was engineered to remove the common but various impurities—sand, stones, stalks, leaves, empty pods, metal fragments, and dust—that inevitably accumulate during harvesting, sun‑drying, storage, and transportation. To meet the strict export purity requirement of over 99%, the system integrates five key machines in a continuous flow, from raw material intake to finished bagging.
Core Equipment and Process Flow
Vibration Screen: As the primary cleaning stage, it uses double or triple deck meshes driven by powerful vibratory motors. The upper deck efficiently removes coarse stalks, twine, and leaves, while the lower deck sifts out fine sand and broken kernels, preparing a uniform material for subsequent steps.
Air Separator: Employing negative pressure airflow and cyclone settling, this unit thoroughly extracts lightweight impurities such as husks, empty shells, chaff, and dust, all of which are lighter than sesame. A variable frequency fan enables precise adjustment of airflow based on the physical characteristics of different Sudanese sesame varieties, so the system achieves thorough cleaning without losing sound kernels. Moreover, the combination of air separators and pulse dust collectors greatly reduces dust emissions, protecting both the factory environment and operator health.
Gravity Destoner: Designed to remove high‑density materials that are similar in size to sesame, including pebbles, glass chips, and heavy mineral particles, this machine combines an upward air current with a vibrating deck. Because sesame kernels are lighter, they float on the upper layer and move forward to the outlet, while heavy stones cling to the deck and slide backward for discharge. With a destoning efficiency exceeding 99.5%, this step guarantees product purity.
Magnet Separator: A high‑intensity magnetic separator of at least 5,000 gauss is installed to capture fine iron filings, bearing debris, and welding slag that might otherwise remain in the stream. Removing these metallic contaminants ensures that all iron impurities are removed, which enhances quality and simultaneously prevents damage to other processing equipment.
Packing Machine: The cleaned sesame is automatically weighed and packed into standard 50 kg bags at a rate of 6 to 10 bags per minute. This efficient end‑of‑line step ensures consistent bag weights and a neat appearance, ready for storage or shipping. With calibration, it can reach an accuracy of ±0.2%, greatly reduceing the package variance.
Automation, Operation, and Maintenance
The entire line is designed with a high degree of automation. Apart from feeding raw material and sewing the filled bags, the system requires minimal manual intervention. Each machine is fitted with observation windows, making it easy to monitor operation and quickly diagnose any issues. Routine maintenance is straightforward, and the compact layout fits well within the existing workshop space. Since start‑up, the line has run smoothly with only scheduled maintenance stops. The customer has reported that the final product consistently achieves satisfying purity, fully meeting export specifications.
